Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player won his first championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since that period of the previous year.
Victory also means he has won 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
He saved 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
