The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the group enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Strategists tables.

Viewers can expect finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
